She earned her teaching diploma as an instrumental teacher for classical guitar, which she studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Quilmes (Buenos Aires, 1986–99). Violeta Ramos initially received lessons on her main instrument, the Paraguayan harp, from Luis Bordón, Chochín Balbuena, and Nicolás Caballero.

At the same time, she studied tango, folklore, and jazz at the Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda (Buenos Aires, 1995–2000) and composition with electronic media at the University of Quilmes (1992–1997).
In Switzerland, Violeta Ramos studied early music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel with Heidrum Rosenzweig (2003–05).

Concerts
At the beginning of her career, at the age of 16, Violeta Ramos played in various traditional folklore ensembles. Later, she founded several duos (harp and guitar, harp and flute). She writes her own arrangements and compositions in order to participate in international festivals for harp and music. 
Her numerous concerts as a representative of Argentina or Latin America include:

  • International Harp Festival in Arles (France '99) at the invitation of harpist Marielle Nordman

Various contemporary arrangers and composers such as Eva Lopszyc and Pablo Aguirre wrote works for her. One of Lopszyc's works, a composition for harp with chamber orchestra accompaniment, was performed at the Teatro Rosario (Santa Fe province) and, after its premiere, in the “Salon Dorado” of the legendary “Teatro Colón” (Buenos Aires). It was the first time that the Paraguayan harp had been heard in this renowned theater (1992). 
Pablo Aguirre wrote the first suite for harp from Paraguay for her.
Participation in several radio and television productions in Germany, Switzerland, Argentina, and Paraguay (as well as the national radio stations of these two countries). 
She won several prizes in Argentina (Buenos Aires), Paraguay (Asunción), and Germany (Weimar) and received the highest musical honors from the mayor of Berazategui, the Minister of Health of the City of Buenos Aires, Juan José Mussi, and the Paraguayan representation FEPARA in Buenos Aires.
Violeta Ramos was invited to be a jury member at youth music competitions in Buenos Aires (1999) and Einsiedeln (2004). She was a member of the organizing committee of the harp association ASARPA.
Her repertoire includes chamber music arrangements of tango and South American folk music as well as her own compositions. 

Projects

Violeta Ramos regularly receives invitations to participate as a guest musician in various projects, including: 

  • Performance of the children's musical “Im Land der Buntgemischten” (In the Land of the Colorful Mix)

  • Saint-Saëns' “Christmas Oratorio” for orchestra, choir, and soloists (St. Jakobskirche in Cham)

  • Concerts with the Lucerne Marching Band, string quartet, and children's choir under the direction of Urs Ehrenzeller (KKL Theater, Lucerne)

  • “Misa para un continente” with choir and orchestra (Zofingen Church)

  • “New Year's Concert 2012” (Seewen Parish Church)

  • “Misa Criolla” conducted by Patric Ricklin (Sils Maria and St. Moritz, 2015)

  • “Misa Criolla” conducted by Oscar Echeverry (Zurich, 2015)

  • “Navidad Nuestra” and “Misa de Cantos” conducted by David Schneider (Cham, 2018; Rott, 2019)

The numerous concerts in churches, theaters, museums, and art galleries include the following venues:

During her numerous international concerts, she has performed alongside musicians such as Luis Bordón, Nicolás Caballero (Paraguay), Ramón Ayala (Argentina), Dominique Bouchoud (France), Andrew Laurence King (Great Britain), Xu Fengxia (China), Fides on the Wall (Switzerland), Jana Vassilensko (Russia)  “Los Paraguayos” with Reynaldo Meza, etc.

Teaching

  • Between 1992 and 1999, Violeta Ramos taught music in various kindergartens, elementary schools, and secondary schools in Buenos Aires.

  •  She currently teaches classical guitar at the Hochdorf Music School (Lucerne, 2006 to 2022) and the Knonau Music School (Zurich, since 2006).

  •  Violeta regularly gives workshops on Latin American music for harp students and continuing education courses for professional harpists (e.g., at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis music academy in Basel).

  •  In 2002, she founded her own music school, “stimmen.voices.voces del mundo,” in the old town of Zug, the first educational institution in Central Switzerland for the Paraguayan harp, which Violeta Ramos taught using her own harp method.

  •  In 2010, she published the first music book for harp students, published by Kreightons Collection Wales (further editions are available in the shop).

  •  As an organizer, she held monthly concerts with international musicians of various styles (2002 to 2010) in the old town of Zug and has been organizing annual concerts in Cham (since 2019) and children's concerts in the Knonaueramt region.
